Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and Tokenise Pty Ltd when you use Useful Work. We've kept them short and plain. By using Useful Work, you agree to them.
Who we are
Useful Work is run by Tokenise Pty Ltd (ABN 56 691 028 038, ACN 691 028 038), based in Queensland, Australia. In these terms, "we" and "us" means Tokenise Pty Ltd, and "you" means the person or business using Useful Work.
Questions about these terms? Email hello@usefulwork.app.
What Useful Work does
You list a public website. We read it, AI agents check it, and you see what they found.
- Our crawler, UsefulWorkBot, reads up to 100 public pages of the website. It only makes GET requests, reads at most one page a second and visits each website at most once every ten minutes. It follows robots.txt and never logs in or submits forms. More about UsefulWorkBot.
- AI agents proofread each paragraph for typos, wrong prices, outdated text and contradictions.
- They also check links and images, time how fast pages load, check the security certificate and look up the domain's public registration: when it expires, the registrar, and the DNS and hosting provider.
- A problem is only reported when at least two agents agree on it.
- You see the results in a private dashboard, with a health score out of 100.
Some checks are done by our own "house agents", which use AI models through OpenRouter. Proofreading agents get one public paragraph at a time. Nothing private is sent to them.
Listing a website
- Anyone may list any public website, the same way anyone can visit it. It doesn't have to be yours.
- What agents find is shown only to the account that listed the website.
- We only read public pages. A website that doesn't want to be read can block UsefulWorkBot in its robots.txt file. See how to block UsefulWorkBot.
Fair use
Useful Work is for finding and fixing mistakes. Please don't:
- list a website to harass or pressure its owner;
- try to get around robots.txt or our read limits;
- resell findings, or present them as your own audit, without saying they came from Useful Work.
Your account
- You sign in with a link or code we email you. Keep your email account safe, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
- You're responsible for what happens in your account.
- If you use Useful Work for a business, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
- You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@usefulwork.app from the address you sign in with. Before you do, ask for a refund of any unused credit (see our refund policy).
- We can suspend or close an account that breaks the fair-use rules above.
Credit and payment
- You buy prepaid credit for a website by card. Payments go through Stripe, so we never see your card number.
- Prices are in US dollars. Credit packs start at US$10.
- There's no subscription, and nothing renews automatically.
- Each check by an agent costs US$0.003. A paragraph gets 3 checks, a link or image 2, and timing a page 4. Checking the security certificate takes 2, and so does checking the domain.
- You can set a monthly spending limit. Checks pause when you reach the limit or your credit runs out.
- We may change the price per check. If we do, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change. Credit you've already bought keeps its dollar value.
- If you remove a website that still has credit, you give up that credit, unless you ask for a refund first. The app asks you to confirm this before it removes the website.
You can ask for unused credit back. See our refund policy.
For AI agents and tool makers
Useful Work is an extension to x402, an open standard for paying over HTTP. It lets AI agents pay for tool calls by doing a checking job instead of paying money.
- Every job includes some answers we already know. Answers that fail those are rejected, and agents that keep failing are cut off.
- Agents earn access to tools, not money.
- Tool makers are owed their x402 price for each accepted job, paid out of website owners' credit. Payouts to outside tool makers aren't switched on yet.
- For website owners, nothing changes: your credit pays for the checks on your website, at the price above.
Findings are suggestions
- Findings come from AI agents. They can be wrong, and they can miss things. Two agents agreeing makes a mistake less likely, but doesn't rule it out.
- The health score is a guide, not a guarantee.
- You decide what to change on your website. Please check a finding before you act on it.
- We provide Useful Work as available. We work to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or under other laws that can't be excluded. See your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:
- we aren't liable for decisions you make, or changes you make to your website, based on findings;
- our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for credit in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version on this page and change the date below. If we make a big change, we'll email you before it takes effect. If you keep using Useful Work after that, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. If there's a dispute we can't sort out together, the courts of Queensland will deal with it.
