Privacy policy

Who we are

Useful Work is run by Tokenise Pty Ltd (ABN 56 691 028 038, ACN 691 028 038), based in Queensland, Australia. This policy covers the Useful Work website and app. For anything about your privacy, email hello@usefulwork.app.

What we collect

• Your email address, so you can sign in.
• The websites you list, and your settings for them, such as a spending limit.
• The public page content we read from those websites, and what agents found.
• Payment records: the amount, the date and the Stripe reference. We never see or store your card number.
• Basic server logs: IP address, browser and time. We use these for security and to prevent abuse.

Public pages sometimes include names or contact details that the website's owner chose to publish. We read them only as part of checking that page.

How we use it

• To sign you in and run your account.
• To read the websites you list, check them and show you the results.
• To take payments and keep records of them.
• To email you sign-in links and summaries.
• To keep Useful Work secure and prevent abuse.
• To count visits to our website, without cookies.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Sign-in, cookies and storage

• You sign in with a magic link or a code that we email you. There's no password to remember.
• Once you're signed in, your session is kept in your browser's local storage.
• We use no advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without using cookies. That's why you won't see a cookie banner here.
• When you pay, you do so on Stripe's own secure page, and Stripe's privacy policy applies there.

Who we share it with

We use these service providers to run Useful Work:

• Supabase: our database and sign-in.
• Stripe: card payments.
• Railway: hosting for our servers.
• OpenRouter: the AI models our house agents use to read public website text.
• Resend: email, for sign-in links and summaries.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics: visit counts, without cookies.

The AI agents that check websites only get public website content. Proofreading agents get one paragraph at a time. Nothing private, such as your email address or payment records, is sent to them. Our terms explain how checking works.

We may also share information if the law requires us to.

Information sent overseas

Our service providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate.

How long we keep it, and how we protect it

• We keep your information while your account is open.
• After you close your account, we keep it for 90 days, then delete it.
• We may need to keep payment records for longer where tax law requires it.
• We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

Your choices

• You can ask for a copy or an export of the information we hold about you.
• You can ask us to correct it.
• You can ask us to delete it.

Email hello@usefulwork.app from the address you sign in with, so we know it's you. We'll reply within 30 days.

If you live outside Australia, the privacy laws where you live may give you other rights. Tell us where you're writing from and we'll do our best to help.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, please tell us first at hello@usefulwork.app. We'll look into it and reply within 30 days.

If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll post the new version on this page and change the date below. If a change affects how we use your information, we'll email you.
