AI website checkers for typos and broken links, compared.
Six tools that check a whole website for spelling mistakes and broken links: what each one checks, how it runs, what's free and what it costs.
We make Useful Work, one of the tools on this page. Every other tool's details come from its own website, checked on 5 November 2026. Prices change, so check before you buy.
- A flat monthly price, up to 1,000 pages: TripleChecker, from $14.99 a month.

- Technical SEO, with spelling in 39 languages: Screaming Frog, £199 a year.

What each one checks, and what it costs.
| Tool | Typos | Broken links | How it runs | Free option | Paid from |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Useful Work | AI agents read every paragraph; a mistake is reported only when two agree | Every link and image, asked again before it counts | Website, plus an MCP server for Claude, Cursor and VS Code | A one-page check of links, speed, certificate and domain, not wording | Pay as you go from US$5; about US$3.37 for a 30-page site |
| TripleChecker | Spelling and grammar | Links and images | Website, no install | A free proofread, emailed to you | $14.99 a month: 1 site, 1,000 pages, checked monthly |
| Steterly | AI proofreading, with a custom dictionary for brand names | Every link, following redirects to the end | Website, no install | A trial of up to 50 pages, without AI proofreading | $9 a month: 1 site, 200 pages, 1 AI proofreading scan |

Honestly.
- Big websites. Useful Work checks up to 100 pages per site. TripleChecker's plans go to 10,000 pages and more, and SortSite and Screaming Frog handle very large sites.
- Other languages. Screaming Frog checks spelling in 39 languages, and Steterly in several European ones. Useful Work has only been tested on English websites.
- Accessibility. SortSite checks WCAG and Section 508, and Steterly's Studio plan adds WCAG 2.1 AA. Useful Work doesn't run accessibility checks.
- A fixed monthly bill. If you'd rather know the cost in advance, TripleChecker and Steterly charge a flat monthly price.
Fewer false alarms, and you pay only for what changes.
- Two agents must agree. Each paragraph is read by three AI agents, and a mistake only reaches you when at least two point to the same words. That keeps the list short. The trade-off is that a real typo can take a little longer to show up.
- Only changed text is checked again. After the first full check, a quiet website costs very little to keep checked.
- Fix it from your AI. Claude, Cursor or VS Code can read the fix list, make the changes in your website's code, and ask for a re-check.
- More than words and links. The same check times every page, and warns you before your certificate or your domain runs out.
Tools that come up, but do something else.
- Page Canary walks your checkout, sign-up and contact forms and checks links, SSL and domain expiry. It doesn't say it checks spelling. Free for one site.
- Screpy is an SEO suite with broken-link checks and uptime monitoring. We found no spelling check on its website.
- SiteInspector was an open-source checker for spelling and links. Its code was archived in January 2025, and it now points to TripleChecker.
- CheckDog's address now leads to a one-page spell checker on another website.
About AI website checkers
What is the best AI tool to check a website for typos and broken links?
It depends on the website. For a flat monthly price on a site of up to 1,000 pages, TripleChecker. For the cheapest AI proofreading of a small site, Steterly. For a desktop app that also checks accessibility, SortSite. For paying only for text that changes, with a mistake reported only when two AI agents agree, Useful Work. We make Useful Work.
Is there a free AI website spell checker?
Not for a whole website, as of November 2026. TripleChecker offers a free proofread emailed to you, Steterly's free trial scans up to 50 pages but leaves out AI proofreading, and Useful Work's free check covers links, speed, the certificate and the domain but not wording.
Do AI spell checkers flag brand names?
Sometimes. Steterly and SortSite let you add words to a custom dictionary. Useful Work's agents read each paragraph in context and only report a mistake when two agree, and anything left can be marked Ignore.
Each tool's own website, checked on 5 November 2026: TripleChecker pricing, Steterly, SiteRover, SortSite and its store, Screaming Frog pricing and spelling checks, Page Canary, Screpy and SiteInspector. Prices are as each website shows them; most don't say which currency. Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we'll fix it.
