Free broken link checker.
Paste a page's address. We open every link and image on it, up to 60, and show you which ones are broken, with the words each link uses so you can find it on the page.
The same check also times the page and looks at its search basics, certificate and domain. Free checks can appear on our home page, with what they found.
Every link and image on the page.
Links to your own pages
Menus, buttons and links in your text that lead somewhere on your website that's gone or moved.
Links to other websites
Booking systems, suppliers, maps and social pages. They break when the other website changes, without you touching a thing.
Images
Pictures that no longer load, often after a website move or a file renamed in your website builder.
And the rest of the page
How fast it loads, the title and description search engines read, your security certificate and when your domain runs out.
The link, its words and what went wrong.
“Order a birthday cake” goes to a page that no longer exists.
order.cakebox.example/hsb · Not found (404)→ Point it at the new ordering page, or take the link out.
Links break while you're not looking.
You didn't change anything. The page you linked to moved, a supplier renamed a product, or a booking system changed its address. Your button still says “Book now”, and it goes nowhere. Visitors don't tell you; they leave.
Your own browser often hides it, because it remembers pages you've visited before. A check opens each link fresh, the way a new visitor would.
Four steps, about a minute.
- Paste the addressAny public page: your homepage, your menu, your booking page.
- We read the pageand open each link and image on it, up to 60, a few at a time so your website isn't rushed.
- Anything that fails is asked againon its own, so a slow moment isn't reported as broken. Links that just didn't answer are listed separately.
- You get the listwith each link's words, its address and what went wrong, on a page you can share.
About the broken link checker
Is it really free?
Yes. It checks one page at a time with no sign-up, a few dozen pages a day from each visitor.
How many links does it check?
Up to 60 links and images on the page you give it: links to your own pages, links to other websites, and every image.
Why does a link work for me but show as broken?
Some websites answer automated requests differently or slowly. Anything that looks broken is asked again, on its own, before we call it broken, and a link that simply didn't answer in time is listed separately rather than as broken.
Can it check my whole website?
The free check reads one page. A full check reads every page and keeps watching: links to your own pages are checked when they change and links to other websites weekly or monthly, from US$5 of credit with no subscription. Add your website.
